Department of Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering Department excelsto serve students and industry through excellence in education, discovery, and application of engineering and applied sciences.It is a basic and conventional course of engineering which is being offered since 2004 in this institute. The Department is of the firm opinion that once the students have understood the basic concepts of different subjects thoroughly and have received proper practical training in the laboratories, they are well set to be placed in any reputed organization as an Electrical Engineer. The Department is well equipped with various laboratories. It has highly qualified and experienced staff. Presently, the intake to the course is of 60 students. Duration of the course is of three years and each year is comprised of two semesters and at the end of each semester, examinations are conducted by Punjab State board of Technical Education, Chandigarh. A six week practical internship is to be undertaken by the students in leading companies and organization at the end of fourth semester.

Mr. Kulvir Singh is working as Assistant Professor and Head of Department of Electrical Engineering at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Dalewal; Hoshiarpur - Punjab. He has done his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Technical University. He has served the Institute from last 7 years as Assistant Professor. He has done various specialization courses and trainings in electrical engineering.

The objective is to empower our students with latest technical knowledge and skills by providing them with the best teaching faculty, lab facilities, excellent development environment and excellent infrastructure. Electricity has become the basic need for survival globally. Electrical Engineering deals with study and application of electrical systems for use in these different environments. It equips you with the knowledge of generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power, electrical circuit design, electronics, instrumentation, control system, understanding electrical and electronic networks etc. All major companies of public and private sector such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, Power Corporations, Hydro-Electricity sector are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers for their projects.
